PROJECTS
As the business developed, a variety of projects, including the following have been
completed.
CHANNEL TUNNEL
Screening of railway marshalling yard by 1000 trees with a trickle
irrigation system, monitored during April to September, for a period
of three years. A very successful system that limited the number
of failed trees.
DUST SUPPRESSION
Systems have been installed at horse arenas and a refuse tip for differing reasons. The
menage required irrigation to provide the right conditions for horse training. Irrigation for
the refuse collection was for health reasons.
SUBSIDENCE
A project was completed and worked successfully to ensure that clay did not shrink around
the footings of a house. This proved to be a cost effective solution costing £2000 as opposed
to the normal method of underpinning. Probes were inserted in the ground to close the watering
cycle when field saturation was reached.
ARTIFICIAL TURF
The irrigation of artificial turf is essential for the protection of players and to
provide the right playing conditions. Such a system has been installed at Bisham Abbey
National Sports Centre, incorporating a 4 inch uPVC ring main feed from twin 60-90 cubic
meter per hour pumps. The result of this facility is to provide a high speed application
of water before a match and during the interval.
